Isopanishad
Isopanishad Mantra Six
11 June, 2025
Sri isopanisad is giving us the insight into personality of godhead, the supreme person, the supreme controller, the supreme enjoyer, the supreme proprietor, the supreme friend of all living entities.
BG gives us the mind of the lord.
Here Sri Isopanishad is giving us the heart of the lord, how the devotee and lord see each other.
There are 3 types of devotees - based on their level of realization (Maturity of devotion):
Kanishthadhikari: The neophyte devotee who is just beginning to understand the process of devotional service.
- Goes to temple or church to worship God assuming this is the only place to worship.
- Narrow and limited understanding.
- Neophyte stage.
- Early stage of sadhana.
- Worships God only in places of worship (temple, church, etc.).
- Lacks discernment in understanding others’ spiritual standing.
- Often engages in sectarian conflict; materially motivated devotion.
- Does not understand and assumes that everyone is the same.
- Fights with self and others.
- Rather than giving something, it is about getting something - like getting something from going to temple or church.
- Better to be a kanistha than an atheist or a karmakandi, but still not the best.
- However, we have to move beyond this stage.
Madhyamadhikari: The intermediate devotee who has a deeper understanding and can distinguish between devotees, non-devotees, and the Supreme Lord.
- Recognizes four categories:
- The supreme Lord.
- The devotees of the lord - somoeone who adores the supreme lord.
- The innocent who have no knowledge of the lord and gives Krishna to others.
- The atheists, who have no faith in the lord.
- Treats each category with appropriate respect.
- Loves God, befriends devotees, teaches the innocent, avoids the atheists.
- Moving to this stage is one goal for us.
Uttamadhikari: The topmost devotee who sees all living entities as part and parcel of the Supreme Lord and treats them with compassion and love.
Prabhupada wants us to be paramahasas, the topmost devotees, who see everyone as part and parcel of the Lord—no discrimination.
Prabhupada came to the level of madhyama-adhikārī to give us Krishna. He has always and will remain a uttama-adhikārī and a paramahamsa.
CC 1.22.107 - The love of godhead is dormant in everyone, by listening to the message of Krishna, it awakens. So a Madhyama-adhikārī is someone who gives Krishna to others by preaching and talking about Krishna to others. (REF)[https://vedabase.io/en/library/cc/madhya/22/107/]
Uttama-adhikārī sees everyone as part and parcel of the Lord—no discrimination. One is a dog or a cat based on one's previous karma, but the soul is the same.
The uttama-adhikārī gives Krishna to all and everyone without any discrimination.
We should always as from a neophyte stage give krishna to others, but we should not be a neophyte in our understanding of Krishna and therefore we should strive to be a madhyama-adhikārī - This is what Prabhupada wants us to be at the least - a Madhyama-adhikārī.
Prahlada maharaja, Dhruva maharaja are examples of uttama-adhikārī - Kids who gave Krishna to others and have given us the example of how to be a uttama-adhikārī.
Uttama-adhikārī sees dog or bramhana without any discrimination. Both are seen as good as they are attracted by the soul and super-soul. They see the spirit soul and establish a relationship with the spirit soul.
Aham bhija-pradah pitaḥ - Krishna is the father of all living entities. BG 14.4 - Krishna is the father of all living entities, and therefore we should see everyone as part and parcel of Krishna. Therefore uttama-adhikārī sees everyone as part and parcel of Krishna and deals with all at the spirit level.
This is how Prabhupada was able to see everyone regardless of their background, caste, creed, religion, etc. as part and parcel of Krishna and therefore he was able to give Krishna to all.
Uttama-adhikārī are usually in their service of the lord, they are not affected by the material world. They are aloof to everything else. This is why Prabhupada who was aloof to everything else, was able to see everyone as part and parcel of Krishna and therefore he was able to give Krishna to all by coming down to the level of madhyama-adhikārī and giving Krishna to all.
Prabhupada's Example:
- Prabhupada saw everyone as part and parcel of Krishna, regardless of their background.
- He gave Krishna to all, transcending material distinctions.
- He was a uttama-adhikārī who came down to the level of madhyama-adhikārī to give us Krishna.
Prabhupada's Vision:
- Prabhupada's vision was to see everyone as part and parcel of Krishna, regardless of their background, caste, creed, religion, etc.
- He wanted us to see everyone as part and parcel of Krishna and therefore give Krishna to all.
Formula - I want / My soul wants person X and the paramatma in me too want to give the book. The paramatma in person X wants Person X to take the book. All that remains here is for person X to take the book. I have a desire to give book and therfore the supersoul facilitates the process of giving the book to person X. Person X's paramatma also wants person X to take the book. So the paramatma in me and the paramatma in person X are working together to give the book to person X. This is how we should see everyone as part and parcel of Krishna and therefore we should not discriminate based on caste, creed, religion, etc. We should see everyone as part and parcel of Krishna and therefore we should give Krishna to all.
How to move up the stages?
- Improve sadhana.
- Read scriptures.
- Associate with devotees.
- Preach and give Krishna to others.
Uttama-adhikārī sees everyone as good only. Good or bad. They come down to the level of madhyama-adhikārī only to give Krishna to others - that is the only reason and their quality to come down to the level of madhyama-adhikārī is to give Krishna to others. Here only conciousness is coming down and not the position.
BBB - Be Brilliant and Basics.

- BCC - Blame Criticism Complain - These are the three things that we should avoid in our devotional service.
- Instead we should focus our lives on CC -Chaitanya Charitamrita, Bhagavad Gita, and Srimad Bhagavatam.
- Informatiin can only lead to transformation one when applied in our lives. We have to apply CC teachings as is.

Key Themes from the Purport
🌱 Three Levels of Devotional Realization
Kaniṣṭha-adhikārī (Neophyte Devotee)
- Worships God only in places of worship (temple, church, etc.).
- Lacks discernment in understanding others’ spiritual standing.
- Often engages in sectarian conflict; materially motivated devotion.
- Does not understand and assumes that everyone is the same.
- Fights with self and others.
- Rather than giving something, it is about getting something - like getting something from going to temple or church.
- Better to be a kanistha than an atheist or a karmakandi, but still not the best.
- It is okay to be in this stage, However, we have to move beyond this stage as this is not the goal.
Madhyama-adhikārī (Intermediate Devotee)
- Recognizes four categories:
- The supreme Lord - They understand the Supreme Lord as the ultimate reality and position of the lord.
- The devotees of the lord.
- The innocent who have no knowledge of the lord and gives Krishna to others.
- The atheists, who have no faith in the lord.
- Treats each category with appropriate respect.
- Loves God, befriends devotees, teaches the innocent, avoids the atheists.
- Recognizes four categories:
Uttama-adhikārī (Topmost Devotee)
- Sees everyone as part and parcel of the Lord—no discrimination.
- Understands both the learned brāhmaṇa and the street dog as spiritual beings encaged in different bodies.
- Acts for the spiritual welfare of all, transcending material distinctions.
The True Vision of Oneness
False Philanthropy vs. Genuine Spiritual Vision
- Real universal brotherhood is spiritual, not based on the body.
- Bodily vision is misleading; spiritual vision sees the soul in all beings.
Following the Disciplic Succession (Anupaśyati)
- "Anupaśyati" means seeing through the eyes of the previous ācāryas.
- One must learn from the Vedic line—Lord → Brahmā → Nārada → Vyāsa → Disciples.
- Vedic knowledge should be received through authorized disciplic succession, not speculative commentary.
🕉 Scriptural Harmony & Authority
- Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam and Bhagavad-gītā are the essential, authoritative scriptures.
- Any commentary not aligned with them is considered unauthorized.
- These scriptures emphasize devotion to the Personality of Godhead.
🙏 Conclusion
- Only one on the liberated platform (brahma-bhūta) can truly see all living beings equally.
- The uttama-adhikārī serves the soul, not the body, and does not seek material reward.
- This mantra teaches true spiritual vision—to see God in all and all in God, without hatred or discrimination.
